School Counsellor

Marshland High School

Marshland High School are looking to appoint a suitably qualified School Counsellor with experience of working with, and supporting students with emotional and psychological issues. The successful candidate will work closely with our pastoral team to promote and develop a healthy attitude to supporting mental health awareness and emotional well-being within the school community.

Start date October/November 2022

37 Hours per week ( term time only 38 weeks)


Your main areas of responsibility will be to draw on a range of professional and clinical skills, techniques, therapies, and experience to provide a high-quality, evidence-informed counselling and psychotherapeutic service to students, aged between 11 to 16, experiencing a wide range of emotional and mental health difficulties.
The service you provide will aim to secure and promote the welfare, development and achievement of students as well as the education and understanding from the wider school community towards adolescent mental health and wellbeing.
You will ensure that safeguarding and the welfare and care of all children and young people is promoted.
The role would suit an empathetic, calm and reassuring natured person, with the capacity to work hard within our team. Someone who is authentic, visible and driven with the ambition to want our school to be a joyful and happy place to learn and dedicated to the needs of the individual.
We are a rural school set within the stunning Norfolk countryside with around 830 students. We pride ourselves on the excellent academic progress all our students make (typically performing within the top 20% of schools nationally).
