Marshland High School (part of West Norfolk Academies Trust) is seeking to recruit a Teacher of Geography on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a great opportunity to join a successful department in a happy and caring school.

Our Geography department has an enviable reputation for excellent student outcomes and a strong and supportive team of staff who work closely to progress the department through joint planning and preparation.  Year on year progress in Geography has been significantly above the national average at our school.

The successful candidate would be required to teach up to GCSE.

We are a rural school set within the stunning Norfolk countryside with around 780 students.   We pride ourselves on the excellent academic progress all our students make (typically performing within the top 20% of schools nationally).   All our staff comment on the uniquely supportive family feeling there is to working at our school.   You will find a respectful and caring community of learners, eager to please.

Success through learning

A secondary academy which is part of the West Norfolk Academies Trust.

Marshland is justly proud of its reputation as a happy, caring and safe school. We understand that no student can work effectively if they feel frightened or unhappy, so we take a firm line in relation to discipline here and take our safeguarding responsibilities very seriously. Our House system and mixed-year group tutor groups creates a genuinely familial atmosphere and one in which students are supportive of each other.

Marshland is a truly comprehensive school and one that aims to provide an environment that encourages every student to become a rounded citizen of whom all of society can be proud. It offers many varied opportunities for personal growth as well as an appropriate curriculum for each student. All students are made aware of their potential as individuals, and parents / carers and students are kept regularly informed about their progress against these targets.

We endeavour to instil a love of learning and a respect for education as we believe that education is life-changing and that learning should continue throughout life. We strive to ensure each and every student is the best they can be at whatever they do. We promote high aspirations for every student, encourage excellence in every area and celebrate individual achievement.
